Fred G. Muffler

Fred "Fritz" G. Muffler, 90, of Marseilles, Il, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 at River Shore Care Center in Marseilles. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Oakwood Memorial Park. Arrangements were entrusted to Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home. Fred was born August 12, 1919, in Serena, Il to George and Gertrude (May) Muffler. He married Phyllis Orsburn August 13, 1987 in Bolingbrook, Il. He owned and operated Mufflers Excavating for 35 years and retired in 1998. He also served in the Merchant Marines from 1942 until 1945. Fred is survived by his wife; three daughters, Janice (Joe) Rice of Florida, Janet (Mike) Kozlowski of Marseilles, and Mary (George) Adams of Marseilles; four sons, Fredrick Muffler of Mississippi, Adrian (Marcia) Orsburn of Marseilles, LeRoy (Connie) Orsburn of Sheridan, and Jeff (Tracy) Orsburn of Ottawa; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, which include the latest member, a great grandson Logan McLoud Jerls; one brother, LeRoy Muffler of Serena; and one sister, Barbara (Eugene) Smith of California. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Hickey Muffler; a son, Billie Orsburn; three sisters, Frances Rogers, Sarah Farmer, and Gladys Eisert; and two brothers, William and Forest Muffler. Pallbearers will be Mark and Rodney Orsburn, Kelsey and George Adams, and Mike Kozlowski. Honorary pallbearer will be Kyle Evans. Memorials may be directed to the Donor's choice.
