Frankie "Sue" Thoms, 63, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at her home after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Sue was born July 7, 1950 in Portsmouth, Virginia at a US Naval Hospital to Frank and Charlise Marie (Payne) Bright. She retired from Handy Foods Bakery. Sue enjoyed Saturday morning breakfast with her very close friends, Polar Pop, instant lottery tickets, and visiting the video store weekly. She loved her job at Handy Foods and meeting many people, spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a smile for everyone. She is survived by one son, Raymond (Jodi) Thoms of Joliet; one daughter, Tammy (John) Sheehan of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Dakota Thoms, Hunter Thoms, Autumn Thoms, Stephanie (Cody) Grammer, Shawn Sheehan, and Shyanne Sheehan, two great-grandchildren, Gunner and Isak Grammer, seven sisters as well as two brothers, Nancy (John) Bosgraaf, Teresa (Casey) Buechele, Gina Bright, Dawn (David) Gallagher, Kelly Paulk, Louise (Jerry) Adcox, Patti Kallacky, Ray (Nancy) Wilson, and Frank Bright (Bernard); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to her family.
