Francis Koenig, 58, of Ottawa, IL, died, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2009 at St. Columba Church, with the Rev. Ronald Dodd officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 AM, Saturday, January 31 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Francis Koenig was born Monday, January 22, 1951, in Ottawa, Illinois, to the late Carl Koenig and the late Mary Wilhelmi. He worked at Friendship Village. He was a member of St. Columba Church. He is survived by 1 sister, Mary (Don) Ganiere and 1 brother Paul (Sara) Koenig both of Ottawa; 2 nephews, Donnie and Eris Ganiere. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary (Wilhelmi) Koenig. Pallbearers will be Donnie, Eric, and Tom Ganiere, Frank Borkowski, James Sheridan, Doug Sale, Bob Donahue, and Dave Mucci. Memorials may be directed to Friendship Village or Marquette High School.
