Francis J. Aubry

Francis J. Aubry, 99, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, August 8 at St. Francis Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 9 to 10 am, prior to services, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Francis was born April 16, 1919 in Ottawa to Harry and Edith (Patch) Aubry. He married Esther Monroe on May 24, 1941 in St. Francis; she passed away May 15, 1997.

Francis retired from US Silica in 1982. He was a proud member of the United States Army, serving from 1944 to 1946 in WWII during the European Theater. He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by five daughters, Gayle Fitzgerald of LaGrange, Francine (Thomas) Jensen of Ottawa, Marilyn (Al) Humpage Jr. of LaSalle, Nancy (David) Diederich of Utica, and Jean Hermann of Oswego; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Jennifer; two brothers, Louis and Joseph Aubry; one sister, Rose Aubert, and two sons-in-law, Thomas Fitzgerald and Marvin Hermann.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
