Francine Jensen

Francine Marie Jensen, 79, of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at her home with her family by her side.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, from 9:00am until 10:00am at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Monday, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery.

Francine was born September 9, 1946 in Ottawa, IL to Francis and Esther (Monroe) Aubry. She married Thomas Jensen on May 24, 1965. Together they were married 57 years prior to his passing on December 20, 2022.

Francine was an extremely dedicated caregiver. She adored her family and was always taking care of them. She cared for many relatives in their old age as well as her beloved grandchildren. She also worked as a clerk at K-Mart. In her free time, she enjoyed going to her grandchildren's baseball games, knitting, quilting, and baking.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Kristen) Jensen and Peggy (David) Baxter; her grandchildren, Zander and Garret Baxter; her step grandson, Jacob Liar; her siblings, Gayle Fitzgerald, Marilyn (Al) Humpage, Nancy (Dave) Deiderich, and Jean Herman; and her furry companion, Harry.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Esther; her husband, Thomas; her niece Jenny Lynn Herman; and her brothers in law, Marvin Herman and Thomas Fitzgerald.
