Frances Rubio, 86, of Ottawa, died peacefully in her sleep, Sunday Dec 19, 2010 at Pleasant View Luther Home where she had been a resident for the past 14 years. Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday Dec. 22, at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Frances was born December 21, 1923, in Delrio, Texas, to Nicholas and Rosa (Sandoval) DeLaGarza. She married Catarino Rubio on February 7, 1947 in Delrio. He died February 2, 1985. Frances was a homemaker, loving wife, and mother. She found a way to make any situation bearable through her many facial expressions and her ability to make people laugh. We will all miss her but find comfort in knowing she is at with peace with the lord. She was a member of St. Columba Church in Ottawa. She is survived by six children, Fina (Gerry) Towne, Olivia (Rich) Gould, both of Ottawa, Tino (Kathy) and Nick Rubio, both of Marseilles; Linda (Ron) Burgess of Saybrook, IL; Carmen (Rick) Cooke of New Windsor, Md; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; one brother, Margarito DeLaGarza of Ottawa; one sister, Maria Garza of Roma, TX; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband; one brother Eulalio; a son-in-law, Gerry Towne, a granddaughter, Dena Towne, and a great-granddaughter, Briana Burgess. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brian, Shane, and Reid Towne, Bob and Kyle Burgess, Ian Rubio, Bob Hatala III, Michael Cole Jr. Memorials may be directed to the Donor's choice.
