Frances M. Mustered, 72, of Ottawa passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 14, 2008 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Monday, August 18, 2008 at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 - 5:00 PM with prayers at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2008 at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following Mass; burial will be private at Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date. Frances was born October 2, 1935 to Stephen and Mary (Krasnican) Yarusinsky in Streator, IL. She married James Mustered on September 5, 1953 at St. Stephen's in Streator, IL. She attended St. Stephen's school and Streator High School. Fran was proud of her connections to Streator throughout her life. She was a member of St. Patrick's church in Ottawa. Her faith was very important to her. Fran loved to work outdoors in her flower gardens. She worked at the UAW Center in the kitchen for more than 20 years. She was a collector of antique pins and dishes. Although she enjoyed doing these things, her family was first and foremost in her life. She was a nurturer and was always taking care of others, even when she was battling her own illness. Her strength is inspirational to those that she leaves behind. Mrs. Mustered is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 55 years, James of Ottawa; one daughter, Mary Wiesbrock of Ottawa; three sons, Dale (Maryann), Michael (Pam) and Paul (Sarah) all of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Lily Mustered, Leah (Brian) Wiesbrock, Sarah (Vince) Evola and Jamie, Molly and Jimmy Mustered; three great-grandchildren Andrew, Evan and Olivia Evola; one brother, Edward Yarusinsky of Hammond, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. She is joining in heaven her parents; three sisters, Florence Onnen, Emma Berosek and Marie Slacian; one brother, John Yarusinsky and a niece, Rita Yarusinsky. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mustered, Mark Berosek, Bill and Jake Serby, Vince Evola and Brian Hodgson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Adams and Scott Powell. The void that is left by her passing can never be filled. She will be missed by many, but she now rests peacefully with the Lord.
