Floyd "Butch" Anderson

Floyd "Butch" R. Anderson Jr., 68, of Marseilles, Illinois, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral Service for Butch will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., October 24, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Butch was born June 27, 1944, in Ottawa, Illinois to Floyd R. and Ann B. (Weygand) Anderson. He married Mary Ann Herzog on July 21, 1968 in Ottawa. She died April 1, 2006. He then married Dona Lane on June 27, 2011 in Ottawa. Butch was a long standing member and retiree of Laborers Union Local 393 Marseilles and worked as a laborer on various projects in the area including the Sheridan Correctional Center and LaSalle Generating Station for 23 years. After retirement from the Laborers Union he worked as a custodian at Ottawa Regional Hospital. More recently, he enjoyed going to Iowa to help out on his wife's farm. Butch loved to fish, tell stories, and play pool. He is survived by his wife, Dona; two daughters, Andrea Strothman of Ottawa and Belinda Diaz of Marseilles; seven grandchildren, Amanda Carlson, Jesse and Jill Diaz, April and Dustin Strothman, and Savannah and Raymond Foster; three great grandchildren, Valerie, Bentley and Mavryk; five brothers, Rick (Janice) of WI, Tim of WI, Steve (Ginger) of Bolderhill, Jeff of Streator, Joe of Serena; and three sisters, Sandy (Tom) Goetsch of WI, Roseanne (Chuck) Morgan of Streator, and Julie (Don) Farrell of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; a granddaughter, Maryanne Renee Foster; and his sister, Pam. Pallbearers will be Jesse Diaz, Dustin Strothman, Shawn Foster, Brandon Anderson, Michael Henry, and Jerry Lane.
