Florence B. Urbance

Florence B. Urbance, 90, of Ottawa passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at Ottawa Pavilion. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, April 29, 2017 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 am to 11:00 am, prior to services, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Streator. Florence was born April 26, 1926 in Streator to John and Emma Urbance. She previously worked at her brothers clothing store, JoAnn's Apparel Shop, in Streator. She also worked for the Lipton Tea Factory. She was a member of St. Columba Church. She was a sophisticated woman with a gentle soul and a kind heart. She enjoyed doing things for other people; especially her family. She had a deep devotion to her church and faith. She is survived by her nieces, Mary (William) Darrow and Jeanne Urbance, both of Streator, and Susan (late W. David) Calhoun of Ottawa; nephews, John (Lisa Nagler) Urbance of Battle Creek, MI and Ronald Urbance of Streator; great-nieces Kimberly (Ryan) Calhoun Hamer, Karla (Chad) Rowe, and Kelly Webb; great-great-nieces, Mylah, Maylee, Makswell, and Kira; and great-great-nephew, Finn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Ray Urbance, Virginia Calhoun, and Jack Urbance; her nephew, W. David Calhoun; and her great-great-nephew, Zachary Bickett. Memorials may be directed to Marquette Academy Elementary School.
