Florence English

Florence S. English (Peg) died peacefully at PVL Nursing Home on December 31, 2010. She was born on January 31, 1924 in Ottawa daughter of John and Catherine Corrigan English. She attended St Patricks grade school and Ottawa High School. Peg is survived by her sister Mildred Hall of Mendota, IL and a brother Bernard (Carole) English, Spring Hill, Florida. Peg is also survived by sisters-in-laws Mary English - Bloomington, IL and Juvita English - Ottawa. In addition Peg had many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Agatha, John, Joe, Larry her twin, Glenn and nephews Ron English and John D. English. Peg worked at Owens in Streator for 37 years. Peg loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her large family. She was always there when anyone needed her and her presence was always appreciated and loved by friends and family. Peg was a wonderful lady and her smile and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew her. Peg's lifelong concern for others is evidenced by her decision to donate her body to The Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois for the purpose of medical education and research. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date. Peg was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ottawa Funeral Home.
