Everett Kennedy

Everett L. Kennedy, 76, of Marseilles passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Everett was born December 13, 1938 in Seneca, Missouri to Ernest and Anna (Land) Kennedy. He married Elizabeth Carter on May 1, 1980 at the Nazareen Church in Marseilles. He retired as a millwright. He was a previous member of the Masonic Lodge. Everyone who knew Everett loved him the moment he met them and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed working in his garage on old tractors and cars. He took pride in working in his garden, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid reader. Everett is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty"; four children, Mark (Dawn) Thomas of WI, Rhonda (Don) Sweezy of AZ, Everett (Kathy) Kennedy of IN, and Eddie (Kim) of IL; eleven grandchildren, Jake, Baleigh, Wayne, Anthony, Erin, Stacy, Kevin, Elissa, Eddie, Ethan, and Emily; and two brothers, Gene (Dolly) Kennedy of IL and Alan Kennedy of CO. He is preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings. Memorials may be directed to his family.
