Evangeline Beck, 91, of Osage Beach, MO and formerly of Ottawa, IL and Homosassa FL died on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Center. Evangeline was born January 13, 1920 in Morris, Illinois, the daughter of the late Silas and Eva (Ragnes) Hagen. Evangeline was a graduate of the University of Illinois. She married Charles Beck on September 19, 1942 in the Grace Lutheran Church in Morris, Illinois. He preceded her in death. Evangeline was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Virginia Vogen. Mrs. Beck lived in Ottawa and worked in the family business until she relocated to Homosassa, Florida in 1980. She has lived in Missouri since 2008. Evangeline enjoyed cooking, reading, and entertaining friends and family. She was also an avid bridge player. Evangeline is survived by her children, Jane (Michael) Delaney of Eldon, MO and James (Sharie) Beck of Centerville, MN; five grandchildren, Melissa Lewis, Diane Harmening, Michael Delaney, Laura Beck and Brian Beck; four great-grandchildren, Alex Lewis, Addyson Lewis, John Harmening and Katelyn Harmening; one sister, Marjorie Evans of Columbia, MO; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials to American Diabetes Association "donations.Diabetes.org" or the choice of charity. A memorial service at 12:00 noon followed by a luncheon for immediate family will be held Wednesday January 4, 2012 at Starved Rock State Park Lodge.
