Eugene White

Eugene White, 79, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at St. Patrick's Church with Father Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, July 14, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 3:45. He will be buried in St. Columba Cemetery. Eugene was born July 3, 1935 in Ottawa, Illinois to Matthew and Catherine (Marmion) White. He married Joanne Armstrong on July 3, 1980 in St. Patrick's Church. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Knights of Columbus, Loyal Order of the Moose #960, and volunteered at the Ottawa High School Booster Club. He worked at Ottawa National Bank and Union Bank. He wrote the bowling article "Splits and Spares" for the Ottawa Daily Times Newspaper. He is survived by four children, Julie Love, Matthew (Sara) White, Jeannette White, and Nicholas White; five grandchildren, Faith Love, Aiden Love, Gabriel Pylest, Aaron, and Aaliyah White; and one sister, Kay (Dale) Ball. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne; and his brother, Gerald White. Memorials may be directed to family.
