Eugene Rafalski

Eugene "Geno" Rafalski, 80, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, September 24, 2015 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 3:45. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Geno was born December 1, 1934 in Ottawa, Illinois to Adam Rachwalski and Helen (Wylepski). He married Janice Baron November 26, 1971 in Ottawa. He retired in 1992 from Illinois Office Supply as a bookbinder. He is survived by his loving wife, Jan; eight children, Michael (Cheryl) Brummel, of Grants Pass OR, Martin (Julie) Brummel, of Oswego, Kathleen Bauman, of North Aurora, Stephen (Colleen) Brummel, of Warrenville, IL, and Nancy (Melinda) Brummel, of Salt Lake City, Utah; three stepchildren, Susan (Pat) O'Brien of Weldon Spring MO, Sally (Mark) Nagrocki of San Antonio, TX, Kathleen (Bill) Innes of Nanaimo, BC Canada; grandchildren, Ted Brummel, Mike Brummel, David Brummel, Sarah (Bryson) Williams, Rachel (Luke) Davis, Matt Bauman, Scott Bauman and Dillon Brummel, Patrick O'Brien, Keegan O'Brien, Jennifer Nagrocki, Jacob and Kristin Nagrocki, and Anthony Innes; great-grandchildren, Natalie Bauman, Bevin Williams and Charlotte Davis He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald Rafalski; three brothers; and four sisters. Pallbearers will be Matt Bauman, Scott Bauman, Patrick O'Brien Jr., Keegan O'Brien Jr, Dillon Brummel, and Jacob Nagrocki. Memorials may be directed to the family.
