Eugene L. McCormack, 92, of Ottawa, IL, died Friday, September 4, 2009 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 am, Saturday September 12, 2009, at St. Mary's Church in Naplate with the Rev. Lourduraj Ignatius officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 am Saturday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Eugene was born January 24, 1917, in Ottawa, IL, to Carroll and Estella (Anderson) McCormack. He married Mary Rafalski May 6, 1939 at St. Columba Rectory in Ottawa, IL. He was a retired salesman for Purity Baking Company, and also was the previous owner of McCormack's Tap in Ottawa. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Naplate, Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's Holy Name Society, Teamsters Local # 722, and was also a former member of the Elks in Mendota. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Linda (Ronald) Samolinski of LaSalle and Teresa (Michael) Brunick of Dixon; one son, Eugene "Skip" (Nancy) McCormack of Oak Park, IL; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Pallbearers will be Jeff McCormack, Bryan and Steve Samolinski, Nick Brunick, Sean Visconti and Greg Harper Memorials may be directed to Marquette High School
