Ethel Vonruden

Ethel Rosemary VonRuden, 68, of Ottawa and wintered in Florida, died Monday, Feb.16, at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital in Orlando, Fla. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m.Saturday at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4 p.m. She was born Nov.15, 1940, in Marseilles, to Albert and Mildred ( Higgins ) Melton. She married Robert VonRuden on March 30, 1965, in Oklahoma. She was a member of St. Columba Church. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Debora Hansen of Ottawa; one son, Dennis Damron of Ottawa; two sisters, Kathleen Trager and Jane Murray, both of Ottawa; and one brother, Albert Melton of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Leona Kolesar. Pallbearers will be Alex, Christopher, Stephen and Tim Hansen, Phil Trager, Albert Melton and Mike Murray.
