Ernestine A. "Babe" Roux, 80, of Ottawa, IL passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 at her home. Ernestine was born February 22, 1929 in Farm Ridge, IL to Tony and Emma (Braggo) Ugolini. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of Americas, St. Columba Church and St. Patrick Church. She was a beautician and also worked at Famous Department Store in Ottawa. Ernestine enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She married Fred Roux September 19, 1953 at St. Patrick's Church in Seneca, IL. Fred passed away May 30, 2008. He was born July 28, 1927 in Ottawa, IL to Howard and Mary (Godsell) Roux. He was raised by his step-mother Mary (Harmon) Roux. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded a purple heart. He was a member of St. Columba Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW, the Teamster's union and farmed in Wallace Township for many years. Ernestine and Fred are survived by two daughters, Patti (Bob) Piercy and Jane Roux, both of Ottawa; one son, Howie Roux of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Jackie (Brad) Thompson, Luke Piercy, Danielle Roux, Sonya (Jon) Helring, Elizabeth (Pat) Hardy, and Paige (Justin) Keylard; and seven great grandchildren, Cole and Ella Thompson, Tristan Grandinetti and Callie Helring, Rachael Barbaro and Noah Hardy, and Ryder Keylard. Fred is also survived by a sister, Rita Mae Aubry of Mendota, IL. Fred is preceded in death by his mother in 1934, father in 1970 and step mother in 1992. Ernestine is preceded by her parents; one sister, Mary Diss; and four brothers, Dom, Max, Joseph, and Arthur Ugolini. Out of respect for Ernestine's wishes, there will be no services. A private mass for the family will be held at a later date.
