Ernest "Wayne" Fessler

Ernest Wayne Fessler, 75, of Marseilles, died Sunday April 13, 2008 at LaSalle Health Care Center. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 17 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Peter Brick officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday April 16 at Ottawa Funeral Home and also one hour prior to Funeral Services on Thursday. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park with Military Services. Mr. Fessler was born November 23, 1932 in Danway, Illinois to John and Mary (Gordon) Fessler. He married Jean Burns November 5, 1973 in Ottawa. She passed away March 4, 1991. He was a guard at Sheridan Correctional Center. Mr. Fessler is survived by one daughter, Doris Ellen (Don) Hultgren of Toluca; three sons, Robert (Rose) Fleuch of Tonica, Girard (Connie) Fleuch of Indiana and Howard Fleuch of LaSalle; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; Sisters-in-law, Gladys Fessler of Ottawa and Sharon Fessler of Marseilles; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Kevin and Michael Fleuch; one daughter, Mary Wilson; three brothers Sam, George and Donald; one sister June Briner; three grandchildren, Toby Fleuch, Jackie Paulen and Stephanie Fleuch in infancy. Pallbearers will be Jacob and Andy Schmillen, Timothy Kirven, Michael Fleuch, Alex Paulen and Jeremy Fessler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jesse Donahue, Justin, Adam and Ryan Fleuch, Josh Kirven and Todd Wilson.
