Ellen "Nellie" Dammann

Ellen M. "Nellie" Dammann, 86, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with prayers at 3:45 on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Ottawa Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Nellie was born June 23, 1929 in Ottawa, Illinois to Emmett and Agnes (Telfer) Burke. She married Ralph Dammann on June 24, 1950 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa; he passed away December 13, 2002. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and The Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Jim) Sullivan, and Diane (Ernie) Gray, both of Ottawa; one son, John (Lisa) Dammann of Ottawa; ten grandchildren, Tim, Tara, Dan, Beth, Jennifer, Jamie, Eric, Shannon, Erin and Carolyn; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Patrica Wheeler.

Pallbearers will be Tim and Dan Dammann, Eric Gray, Mark, Jacob, and Andrew Overbeck, and Nick and Steven Caruso.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Marquette Academy.
