Elizabeth "Betty" Starjak

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Starjak, 82, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral Service for Betty will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa, with Rev. Joseph Donton officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Columba Cemetery. Betty was born April 13, 1930 in Ottawa, Illinois to George and Mary Weber. She married Mike Starjak on October 7, 1978 in Ottawa, Illinois. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed working Bingo at the American Legion. She is survived by one son, Bill Grundon of Peoria; stepdaughters, Joy (Rex) Algate and Cathy (Randy) Heign; two stepsons; grandchildren, Shawn (Andrea) Grundon, Mallory (Jason) Cooper, and Melissa (Chad) Jessen; five great grandchildren; seven sisters; and five brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike; a son, Jeff Grundon; and a daughter, Maribeth Radtke. Pallbearers will be Bill Swartz, Chad Jessen, Bob Emanuelson, Jason Cooper, Paul Hageline, and Randy Heign. Memorials may be directed to the family.
