Charlene Elizabeth Juergensen, 87, of Leesburg, Florida passed away Friday, February 25, 2011. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 28, 2011 at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Visitation will be one hour prior to services from 9:00 - 10:00 AM Monday, March 28 at Oakwood Memorial Park. Burial will be immediately after services. Ottawa Funeral Home handled local arrangements. Charlene was born May 21, 1923 to Charles and Elizabeth (Lynch) Mustered on a farm in southern Illinois and raised in Ottawa, Illinois. She was a homemaker and devote Christian. She married Lester Juergensen in 1945 after he returned from WWII. He worked a short time for a carpenter and then he was hired by Bakelite. He went to work for LOF a few years later. Char and Les built their first home in 1950 on Hillside Ave. where they raised both of their children. She was a den mother, PTA member and volunteer, bluebird leader and of course avid game player. She loved antiquing, garage sales, auctions, collecting and traveling. Her love of cards continued until the evening before she passed. She and Les purchased a fishing resort in Ponsford, MN in 1969. Angler's Wharf became a welcome place for all to visit. They sold the resort several years later and purchased what was left of an 1800 circa Stagecoach Stop north of Seneca in LaSalle Co. All will remember the many Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas Eve parties and 4th of July events held within the statuesque house on the hill. The couple finally retired in 1982 and moved North back to Round Lake in Ponsford, MN to enjoy fishing, family and friends. Char moved back to Ottawa after Lester passed away in 1998. She lived there and renewed old friendships from her younger years until she moved to Pennbrooke Fairways in 2005. She continued her active life of traveling and card playing. Survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Dennis) McQuillan of Leesburg Fl; two granddaughters, Christina Doherty MacGowan of Littleton, Co; Candee Doherty (John (active duty Air Force )Homer of Lompoc, CA; one grandson Ayden John Homer; one sister, Sylvia Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester Junes Juergensen; and son, Randall Lester Juergensen; brothers, Howard "Dale" Mustered, Kenneth "John" Mustered, Ralph Mustered and Lyle Mustered; sisters Bernice Swanson, and Elena Forbes. Johnathan Homer, Dennis McQuillan, Larry Mustered, Eric Ball, Richard Mustered Timothy Mustered and Scott Powell.
