Elizabeth "Betty" Donahue, 84, of Ottawa died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 10, 2011 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Jules Adator officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 Wednesday, February 9 with prayers at 4:00 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Betty was born December 18, 1926 in Spring Valley, Illinois to Remy and Alice (Hyde) Rick. She married John J. Donahue Jr. February 8, 1947 at St. Mary's Church in Naplate. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, LaSalle County Farm Bureau, and Genealogical Society and AARP. She was employed as a machinist at Marathon Electric in Earlville and Buffalo Rock Shooting Range. She is survived by one daughter, Alice (Perry) Schlink of Ottawa; four sons, John (Laurel) of Duluth, MN, David (Barbara) of Oglesby, Mark (Michelle) of Texas, and Jeffrey (Kathy) Donahue of Ottawa; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Victor (Josie) Rick of Wisconsin; and one sister in law, Marilyn Rick of Marseilles. She is preceded in death by her husband; four brothers; and one sister. Pallbearers will be Albert and Rudy Schlink, Karla and Jesse Donahue, Samantha and Stephen Daniele. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rene Daniele and Betty Jo Clegg. Memorials may be directed to the family.
