Elizabeth "Beth" Carr

Elizabeth "Beth" Carr, 73, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Memorial Mass will be held at 9:00 am, Tuesday, October 25 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa, with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm, Monday, October 24 at Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Beth was born July 24, 1943, in Ottawa, to William and Lucille (Brunick) Dougherty. She married Jack Carr II on November 12, 1994. Beth graduated from Marquette High School in 1961 and received her Associate's Degree from Sauk Valley Community College. She then worked as an MRI technician, retiring from Central DuPage Hospital. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ottawa. Beth loved spending time with her close friends, sisters, and grandkids, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She is survived by her husband of 21 years; three sons, Michael (Kimberly) Townsend, Kevin Townsend, and Craig Townsend; one daughter, Sally (Reuben) Mead; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Conor, John, and Lauren Townsend, and Aidan, Evan, Liam, and Lucy Mead; and three sisters, Carol (Bob) Storkman, Sue Cunningham, and Lin (Jim) Ross. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother-in-law, Lyle Cunningham. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
