Eleanor Park

Eleanor B. Park, 96, of Ottawa, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 AM Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Lisa Hadler of the First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Park was born April 20, 1912, in Iowa City, Iowa to Robert and Ada (Abbott) Barry. She married Mack Park June 2, 1934 in Chicago. He died February 4, 1978. Eleanor retired from Tress Jewelry Store in Ottawa after 30 years. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and the Pink Ladies. Mrs. Park is survived by two daughters, Ellen (Ralph) Nelson of Ottawa and Jane (Donald) Tjarksen of Muskegon, Michigan; six grandchildren, Joellyn Groesch, Scott and Stephen Nelson, Susan Roussos, Cynthia Nedeau and Michael Tjarksen and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Barry. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
