Eleanor Lyman

Eleanor J."Ellie" Lyman, 73, of Ottawa, IL passed away Thursday January 7, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 PM, Monday January 11, 2010 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Eleanor was born September 17, 1936 in Ottawa, IL to Jack and Catherine (Machetti) Simcich. She married Harry "Beans" Lyman March 17, 1956 at St. Mary's Church in Ottawa. She worked in many capacities at Sears for over twenty five years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. Eleanor is survived by her husband; two daughters, Sandy (Mike) Erwin of Earlville, IL and Lori (Joe) Brandinger of Seneca, IL; four grandchildren, Traci (Brian) Roe, Jeff Oelschlager, Adrienne Weymouth, and Ben (Sarah) Erwin; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, John (Phylis) Simcich of Peru, IL and James (Mary Ann) Simcich of Ottawa; one sister, Marie (Ralph) Helgeson of Ottawa. She is preceded in death by her parents. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to her family.
