Eleanor Caputo

Eleanor Caputo, 92, of Seneca passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at LaPalma Intercommunity Hospital in LaPalma, California, where she resided in the winter. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 14, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Seneca with Rev. Carolyn Lukasick officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 - 10:00 am Saturday, one hour prior to her funeral at First United Methodist Church in Seneca. She will be buried in Mount Hope Cemetery. Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements. Eleanor was born November 16, 1922 in Ottawa, Illinois to George and Kathryn (Brown) Tattersall. She was a 1940 graduate of Seneca High School. She married Glenn Caputo of Marseilles on August 3, 1941; he passed away February 18, 1989. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where in the early years she taught Sunday School, she was active in the Methodist Women's Auxiliary, and sang in the church choir. She was the church secretary for years then worked for Caselli Insurance in both the Seneca and Marseilles offices until she retired. She was very active in her hometown, where she spent most of her life, volunteering as an Election Judge, a cook at the Seneca Grade School, and a chairperson for numerous activities her children were involved in. She loved to play canasta and bowling. She also belonged to a card club and bowling league for many years. She is survived by her children, Glenn (Kelly) Caputo of Cypress CA., Karen (David) Krafft of Ottawa, and Kevin (Terri) Caputo of Morris; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathryn Holman of Fort Worth, TX; two sister-in-laws; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; one son, Brad Caputo; two sisters, Leorna and Betty; and two brothers, Robert and William. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Seneca.
