Elaine V. Mitchell

Elaine V. Mitchell, 79, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa surrounded by her husband and her five children. Funeral Service for Elaine will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Jules Adator officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Elaine was born October 28, 1933, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Joseph and Eileen (Rinaldi) Orsini. She married Bill Mitchell on May 1, 1963 in Morris, Illinois. She was an office manager in a Dr.'s office for many years. She was a member of the VFW, Moose, American Legion, and the Auxiliary VFW. She is survived by her husband, Bill; three daughters, Darlene (Henry) Strand of Hayward, WI, Doreen (Kim) Lemke of Hayward, WI, and Valerie Welch of Ottawa; two sons, Rick Lawsha of Galesburg and David Lawsha of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Shelley, Sonya, and Stacey; four great grandchildren, Breanna, Brendin, Bailey, and Levi; and one brother, Joseph Orsini of Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rita Roe. Memorials may be directed to donors' choice.
