Edward Walsh

Edward J. Walsh, 79, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Pleasant View Nursing Home with his family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 Friday, November 24, 2017 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Deacon Ron Wackerlin doing prayers at 3:45. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Edward was born September 22, 1938 in Ottawa, Illinois to William and Florence (Keating) Walsh. He married Norma Fieldman on November 27, 1965 in Somonauk, IL. Ed retired from Pipefitters Local 81, 422 and 597. He was a member of St. Columba Church, Ottawa Moose Lodge and the Army Reserved. Ed loved running track in high school, he was known as was a hard worker all his life by many and lately loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Norma; his children, Matthew (Kathy) Walsh, Deanna Walsh, Mark "Curly" (Melissa) Walsh, Timothy (Brenda) Walsh; and four grandchildren, Conor Walsh, Delaney Walsh, Josie Walsh, and Colin Walsh; his siblings, Jerry (Harriet) Walsh, Robert (Betty) Walsh, and Kay (Guy) Woodworth; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Kaleb Beck. Pallbearers will be Conor Walsh, Steve Walsh, Scott Walsh, Marty Walsh, Dan Buckley and Guy Woodworth.
