Edward Andrew Kolesar, Jr., 81, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Thursday evening, December 13, 2012 at Ottawa Pavilion. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Jules Adator officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Edward was born July 3, 1931 in Streator, Illinois, to Edward and Marie (Stortz) Kolesar. He was a 1949 graduate of St. Stephens High School. He married Georgianne Miller June 30, 1953 at St. Anthony's Church in Streator. She passed away March 22, 2012. He was in the United States Army, during the Korean War from 1950 - 1953. He worked for Thatcher's Glass Factory and was a meat butcher at Taylor Street Market. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, VFW, and American Legion. He is survived by two sons, Rick Kolesar and Mike Kolesar; four daughters, Leah Denise (Bernard) Osborne, Lori Ceja, Marla (Mark) Miskell, and Kristina "Kris" (Kevin) Luchau; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol (Ray) Nink. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Georgianne; and two brothers, Robert and Daniel Kolesar. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Memorials may be directed to his family.
