Edward V. Kiesig, 84, of Ottawa, died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at St. Patrick Church with the Rev. Joseph Donton officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery with Military Services. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4 p.m. Edward was born July 2, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Clara (Marco) Kiesig. He married Dolores Martin on July 2, 1951. She died April 5, 2008. He retired from Peltier Glass Company and was a member of St. Patrick's Church. Edward served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He is survived by a son, Donald (Judy) Kiesig of Ottawa; a daughter, Patricia (Mike Graham) Varney of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Kala (Chris) Ryan, Donald Kiesig, Jr., Kevin (Monica) Kiesig, Staci Terry, Kelli (John) Wright and Terri Varney; five great-grandchildren, Robert, Anastacia and Brooklyn Terry, Dalton Ryan and Carlton Kiesig; and one sister, Mary Ann Liljeberg of Arlington Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers, Tom and Jack. Pallbearers will be Don Kiesig, Jr., Kevin Kiesig, Chris Ryan, Mike Graham, and John Wright. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church and Marquette Academy.
