Edward J. Damyen

Edward J. Damyen, 85, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Thursday, December 15 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, with Rev. Augustin Kassa officiating.. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm, Wednesday, December 14 at Ottawa Funeral Home.

Edward was born October 12, 1931 in Ottawa to John and Catherine (Ecimovitch) Damyen. He married Lois Hlafka in 1955. She passed away in February 2012.

Edward was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1950 to 1954. He retired from Libbey Owens Ford after 47 years of service.

He is survived by one daughter, Dana Damyen; two sons, John Scott (Melody) Damyen of Xenia, Il., and Chris (Denise) of Orange County, Ca.; and six grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle, Cameron, Michael, John, and Emily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son, Todd Damyen.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the American Legion or the American Veterans Foundation.
