Earl Ohlendorf

Earl Ohlendorf, 86, of Ottawa passed away in Apple Valley MN on April 24, 2019.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 Thursday, May 2, 2019 at St. Patrick's church with Rev. Bruno officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00-1:00 Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.

Earl was born June 29, 1932 in Ottawa, Illinois to George and Frances (Fishburn) Ohlendorf. He married Henrietta Wielgopolan April 16, 1955 at St. Mary's Church in Naplate; she passed away October 2, 2009. Earl worked for Libby Owens Ford for 35 years until his retirement in 1987.

Earl was an avid bicyclist who could be found riding all over LaSalle county rain or shine. He enjoyed not only his grandchildren but great grandchild as well. He was a fan of Marquette High School and Notre Dame sports. He loved a good book and classic rock and roll. Earl cherished the past three years in Apple Valley with his son's family and grand-dogs.

He is survived by his one daughter, Mary Ohlendorf of Lincoln Park MI; one son Robert (Ann) Ohlendorf of Apple Valley MN; five grandchildren Lindsey and Abby Ohlendorf and Alaina, Amy and Mitch Logan and great granddaughter, Farrah B.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; three sisters, Beverly Ohlendorf, Mildred Charles, and Shirley Heath; and three brothers; Melvin, Louie and Robert Ohlendorf.
