Douglas Stokes

Douglas Stokes, 40, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. Funeral Service for Doug will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Jules Adator officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Memorial Park. Doug was born October 25, 1972, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Dyle and Margaret (Boswell) Stokes. He married Mary Lucas on April 4, 2011. He was a good friend to all he knew and loved. He was a die hard Jets fan. He loved to watch his son Cody play basketball and football. He is survived by his wife, Mary; his parents, Dyle and Margaret; his children, Cody Douglas, Jeremy, and Aalyssa Stokes; his brother, Dyle (Kristen) Stokes, Jr.; and one that he loved as a daughter, Courtney. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and one brother, Jeffrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Howard, Jason Wallace, Trent Stokes, Gabriel Lowell, Derek Reuger, and Shawn Anderson. Memorials may be directed to his wife and children.
