Dorothy M. Landers

Dorothy M. Landers, 100, of Ottawa, died Monday, December 12, 2011, at LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., December 16, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Dorothy was born December 2, 1911 in Farm Ridge Township, Illinois to Edward and Mabel (Passwater) Locke. She married Patrick J. Landers on April 14, 1936 at St. Columba Church. He died November 18, 1989. She was a member of St. Columba Church. She is survived by two sons, Dale (Joanne) and Thomas Wayne, both of Ottawa; two grandsons, Michael (Jodi) and Mark (Sonya) Landers, both of Ottawa; seven great-grandchildren, Maggie, Keegan, Avery, Addison, Grace, Kate, and Evan; one sister, Marge Farrell, of Ottawa; three sisters-in-laws, Helen Kerns, Beverly Locke and Lorraine Landers. She is preceded in death by her husband; a great grandson, Lane; and three brothers, Ron, Lyle, and Charles Locke. Pallbearers will be Jack, Michael and Mark Landers, Tim, Terry, and Michael Farrell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Friendship Village, the Grand Ridge Fire Department, and Marquette Academy.
