Dorothy Jean "DJ" Davis, 26, of Bloomington, formerly of Ottawa and LaSalle, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011, at her residence in Bloomington. Funeral Services for DJ will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church in Ottawa with Pastor Robert Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2011 at the Church. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. DJ was born July 14, 1985 in Ottawa, a daughter of Odessa Phillips and Dorothy Black. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ottawa. She loved to sing and play bingo. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Naylor of Bloomington; four brothers, John Black of Bloomington, LeVon Davis of LaSalle, Odessey Rexroad of LaSalle, and Terrance McKinnie of Streator; four sisters, Chantal Phillips of Ottawa, Alterida Phillips of Streator, Aretha Phillips of Chicago, and Ammie Phillips of Memphis, Tennessee; her grandfather and step grandmother, Louie and Clara Black of Ottawa; and her stepfather LeVon Davis, Sr. of Rockford. She is preceded in death by her father and stepfather, Emmitt Naylor. Pallbearers will be Darrell Redmon, Bobby, Jessie, J.J., and Earl Phillips, and Lawrence Johnson. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
