Dorothy E. Donahue

Dorothy E. (Landers) Donahue, 87, of Wallace Township passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018, surrounded by family at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 pm, Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Patrick's Church, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm, Saturday, prior to services, at Ottawa Funeral Home. She will be buried in St. Columba Cemetery.

Dorothy was born May 18, 1931, in Earlville to Will and Kate (Hughes) Landers. She married Robert Donahue, Sr. on June 7, 1952 at St. Theresa's Church in Earlville; he passed away October 15, 2011.

Dorothy was a faithful parishioner at St. Patrick’s for decades and very much missed attending regular service this past year as her health failed. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed and supported the individuality and spirit of each of her children. She was a 4-H leader, a wonderful baker and candy maker and impossible to beat when challenged to a friendly game of Nintendo.

Raising her family on the farm in Wallace was her focus. Her children and grandchildren have nothing but magical memories of their childhood at the Donahue farm.

She is survived by her children, William (Kevin Babb) Donahue, Laurie (Erik) Skromme, and Susan (William) Francour; six grandchildren, Jacob (Lindsey) Donahue, Cody (Bre) Donahue, Nicholas (Maggie) Skromme, Douglas Skromme, John Francour, and Katie Francour; five great-grandchildren, Josephine, Joseph, Henry, Weston, and Sophie Donahue and one sister-in-law, Joy Landers.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Robert Donahue, Jr. and Timothy Donahue; and her siblings, Mary (Henry) Zolper, Lucille (Eugene) Balachowski, William (Irma) Landers, John (Millie) Landers, Betty (Pete) Baumgartner, Shirley (Don) Kettleborough, and Tom Landers.

She was the last remaining of 55 Landers’ first cousins.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
