Dorothy Davis

Dorothy Davis, 77, of Spring Valley, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Spring Valley Nursing Center. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Dorothy was born September 5, 1936, in Marseilles, to Floyd and Evelyn (Johnson) Gumm. She married Marion (Woody) Davis. Over the years, she worked for Pantrol Inc., Ottawa Inn, and Hobbs. She is survived by two daughters, Laurie Butzen of Dayton and Shelly A. Zywica of Spring Valley; eight grandchildren, Danielle (Lance) Valle, Nichole Zywica, Jimmy (Jenae) Butzen, Shane (Jamie) Butzen, John Davis, Tabitha Davis, Heather Davis, and Shaley Schnierla; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woody; her parents; one son, John G. Davis; her sister, Marilyn Johnson; and two brothers, Marion Myers and Donald Myers. Pallbearers will be Shane Butzen, Jimmy Butzen, Tim Thompson, David Thompson, Lance Valle, John Schiffgens, and James Butzen, Sr. Memorials may be directed to the family.
