Dorothy Castelli

Dorothy M. (Pyrz) Castelli, 83, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 5, 2012 at St. Mary's Church in Naplate with Fr. Jules Adator SMA officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2012 with the Rosary at 5:00 PM at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Dorothy was born October 6, 1928 in LaSalle, Illinois to Michael and Maria(Turkowski) Pyrz. She married Enzo Castelli on November 20, 1948 at St. Valentine's in Peru, Illinois. He died August 28, 1991. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Red Hatters. Dorothy is survived by three sons, Robert Castelli Sr. of Ottawa, Richard (Marti Clark) of Utica, and Joseph (Janet) of Wichita Falls, TX; one daughter, Dottie (Michael) Simundza of Ottawa; twelve grandchildren; Robert (Leigh), Michael, Ryan, Michelle, Beth, Brian and Amanda Castelli, Tom and Scott Shanley, Tami (Michael) Rosengren, Alex and Austin Simundza; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Bern Wilke of Peru. She is preceded in death by her husband; and one grandson, Kevin, in infancy. Pallbearers will be Michael Rosengren, Gary Tabor, Michael and William Wilke Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be John, Brian, Robert Jr. Michael, Ryan and Carsten Castelli, Thomas and Scott Shanley, Alex and Austin Alex Simundza, and Kane Rosengren. Memorials may be directed to the family.
