Dorothy K. Boisso, 88, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. Columba Church with Rev. Corey Kreingel officiating. Visitation will be at Ottawa Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, April 10, with prayers at 3:45. She will be buried in St. Columba Cemetery. Dorothy was born October 13, 1926 in Ottawa, Illinois to Alfons and Maria (Langer) Kubis. She married Glenn Boisso on May 8, 1948 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa. Dorothy was an Office Manager at the LaSalle County Tax Assessors Office and an employee at Emerich & Mason Dress Shop. She was a member of St. Columba Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, a Eucharist Minister, Altar & Rosary Society, and a charter member of the Rivercity Ski Club. She volunteered at St. Columba School, Marquette May Merriment, was a frequent donor for the American Red Cross. She was an avid gardener allowing a weekly donation to the Ottawa Food Basket. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Beth (Bob) Gleason of Texas, Jeannette (Dave) Bartels of Peru, and Rita (Tim) Morey of Marseilles; five sons, Joseph (Colleen) of Chicago, James of Ottawa, Dale (Nancy) of Dallas, Timothy (Susan) Boisseau of Eureka, and Paul of Dallas; a brother-in-law, Jack Tierney of Seattle; a sister-in-law, Patricia Gerding of Ottawa; four devoted nieces, Barbara, Mari, Barbara, and Carol; eighteen grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Joshua, Phillip, Nathaniel, Joseph, Stephen, Mary Ellen, Robert Jr., Anthony, Katherine, Thomas, Gabrielle, Savannah, Timothy Jr., Tanya, Trent, and Justin; and eighteen adoring great-grandchildren, Madeline, Nathan, Allisa, Sage, Lauren, Natilee, Alivia, Malerie, Dawson, Kyrah, Rylin, Dane, Tanlee, Beckham, Daniel, Emily, Aydan, and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; two sons, Charles and Jerald; her parents; a brother, Werner Kubis; and her sister, Betty (Kubis) Tierney. Pallbearers will be her sons, James, Timothy, and Paul; and her grandsons, Justin Green, Robert Gleason, and Thomas Boisseau. Honorary Pallbearers will be her surviving high school classmates, Bernadette Balzarini, Martha McGinty, and Anna Mae Sommer. Memorials may be directed to Marquette Academy.
