Dorothy Lee (Battles) Diederich

Dorothy Diederich, 88, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022  at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be at Noon on Saturday February 5, at  Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation 10:00 to 12:00 before the services. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Dorothy was born, July 31, 1933, in Marseilles, Il. to Earl and Lucille (Slone) Battles. She married Peter Diederich Jr. on October 6, 1951 at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa.  She worked for U.S. Silica as a secretary and was a member of the Butterfingers Bowling League.

She is survived by two sons, Mark (Barbara) and Kurt (Patsy) Diederich; one daughter, Deborah (Jim) Patarozzi;  nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter; and her sister, Jane (Bob) Greiff.

Pallbearers will be Brian Bare, Randy Bare, Jason Hooper, Matt Haley, Curt Haley, and Nathan Haley.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church.
