Doris Strickland

Doris Strickland, 97, of Ottawa, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Rivershores Care Center in Marseilles. Funeral services and burial will be private at Oakwood Memorial Park. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Doris was born November 14, 1916, to George and Minnie Hodgson. She was married to David H. Strickland on December 8, 1934 in Ottawa. David died May 22, 1987. She is survived by one son, Robert (Patty) Strickland of Ottertail, MN; one sister, LaVone Arndt of Rutland, IL; one sister in law Mary Hodgson of Utica, IL ; eight grandchildren, Sally Revell, Marseilles, Robert (Tina) Strickland, LaSalle, Mark Strickland, Ottertail, MN, Karla Cay Strickland, North Glen, CO, Dustin Strickland (Jennifer), Akeley, MN, Rhonda (Max) Hill, Aurora, IL, Tara Strickland (Ottawa) and Teri Strickland (Ottawa); great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Ronald Strickland; four sisters, Ola Stiles, Lenore Hallam, Georgia Fulton, and Marcella Hodgson; and two brothers, George Hodgson and Robert Hodgson.
