Donna Girard

Donna Jean (Stevens) Girard, 78, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, at Ottawa Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. A funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 11, at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Donna was born September 30, 1947, in LaSalle, IL to Melvin and Elsie (Hart) Stevens. She married Alfred Girard Jr. on February 24, 1966. Together, they raised 5 children. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1994.

Donna worked at Value City Department Store for 18 years and Halterman's for 15 years. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything and was always their #1 fan. She always enjoyed playing bingo with her husband, Al, and her daughters. More than anything, her favorite time was spent with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Al (Margie) Girard III, Linda (Girard) Pierce, Michelle (Girard) Mantzke, and Nicole (Girard) Bouley; 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; and her sister, Judy (Dale) Swiskoski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Elsie; her beloved husband, Alfred; her daughter, Lori Girard; her siblings, JoAnne, Cheryl, Carole, Linda, Jim, Jerry, and Ronnie; and her great grandson, David Brasfield.

Pallbearers will be Michael and Connor Pierce; Alex and Noah Bouley, Nicholas Girard, and Brian McConnell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Asher Pierce and Preston Przybylski.
