Donna J. Carretto

Donna Jane Carretto, 88, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, December 22, 2019 at Pleasant View; she entered this world on December 22, 1931 and left this world the same day in 2019 to begin her new life in heaven.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, December 28 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am to 1 pm, prior to services, at the funeral home. She will be buried at St. Columba Cemetery.

Donna was born December 22, 1931, in Ottawa to Leno and Nellie (Protch) Sarti. She married George Carretto, and together they had three sons. She was an OSF volunteer. Donna enjoyed watching sports and was a Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan. She cherished the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by three sons, Robert (Lou Anne), Greg (Pam), and Mark (Trudy); eight grandchildren, Gabriel (Joanne), Abraham (Krista) and Butch Carretto; Jessica (Rob) Dean and Luke (Lexi) Carretto; Andy (Beth), Josh (Sarah), and Ben (Lexi) Carretto; thirteen great-grandchildren, plus two in the new year; and her extended family, Tom (Jane) Waldron and family, Terry (Pilar Castro) Waldron, Tim Waldron, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Sarti; sister, Dolores Mitchell; and her long-time companion, Tom Waldron, Sr.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
