Donna L. Barron, 83, of Deerfield, IL passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Pleasant View Nursing Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 pm Thursday, July 21, 2016 at St. Columba Church with Rev. Mike Driscoll officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Thursday, prior to Mass, at St. Columba Church. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Donna was born December 26, 1932 in Ottawa, Illinois to Arthur and Elizabeth (Pleskovitch) Barron. She taught school for 34 years at Evanston public schools, a one year teaching sabbatical at University of Illinois, and retired from Wilmette public schools. She was a member of National Public School Association, Ravinia, Chicago Botanic Garden, and the Symphony Orchestra. Family was very important to Donna and she cherished every moment spent with them; she especially enjoyed teasing her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed baking, traveling, shopping, and driving around in her sports car. Her family always enjoyed when she would dress up in costumes for the holidays. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals; especially her rescue dog Sparky.

She is survived by three siblings, Arthur W. Barron of Santa Barbara, CA., Adele Schott of Ottawa, and Zeta Conrad of Ottawa; 54 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings, Francis R. " Mannie" Barron, Lawrence J. "Butch" Barron, Lorraine E. "Dolly" Riordan-Barber, Paul R. "Bud" Barron, Shirley M. Miller, Ruth Turner, and John Barron; and her favorite niece, Paula Barron.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Memorials may be directed to OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital's Chapel in Ottawa.
