Donald Townsend

Donald Townsend, 79, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Park Pointe in Morris, with his family at his side.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 18, at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am prior to the service at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Don was born November 17, 1942, in Ottawa, IL, to Howard and Ruth (Young) Townsend . He married Linda Enockson on December 17, 1989 in Marseilles. She passed away May 29, 2010.

Don was the owner and operator of "The Glass Shop, Inc" in Ottawa since 1985. He recently retired in 2020. He was very proud of the business he built in Ottawa and the relationships he gained from it. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, especially euchre and poker. He loved to play golf and go boating, and was an avid Chicago Bulls Fan.

He is survived by his children, Mike (Kimberly) Townsend of Frankfort, IL, Kevin Townsend of Hacienda Heights, CA, Craig Townsend of Oak Forest, IL, and Sally (Reuben) Mead of East Dubuque, IL; his step children, Ann (nee Reding) Russell and Collin Reding; his grandchildren, Ryan, Conor, John, and Lauren Townsend, Aidan, Evan, Liam and Lucy Mead, Grace and Jarod Russell, Alyssa (Eddie) Turner, and Wyatt and Jackson Reding; and his siblings, Chuck (Cheryl) Townsend Of Ottawa, Shirley Liebovich of Champaign, IL, and Jim (Linda) Townsend of Ottawa.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 20 years, Linda.
