Donald "Buzzy" Sexton

Donald "Buzzy" Sexton, 66, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., prior to the services, on Tuesday. Private burial will be at a later date. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation rites.

Don was born February 8, 1950 in Ottawa, Illinois to Tom and Marie (Aubry) Sexton. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1968. Don was a pipefitter for Local 81 and Local 597, where he retired after 25 years. He was a past member of Shoreline Boat Club. Don was an organ donor for Gift of Hope.

He is survived by his daughter, Alison Sexton of Peoria, Arizona; two brothers, Jerry (Mary) Sexton and Bernie (Cindy) Sexton, both of Ottawa; two sisters, Marlene (late Don) Bruck of Ottawa, and Elaine (late Walter) Lester of Davenport, Iowa; nine nieces and nephews, Michael (Peggy) and James Sexton, Jackie (Louie) Gama and Jeff Sexton, Christina Tipton, Sheryl (Paul Hayes) Tipton, and Richard Tipton, and Tim (Lisa) Lester and Walter Lester Jr.; and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tom Sexton Jr.
