Donald F. "Bumpa" McCullough, 79, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Pleasant View Luther Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi with Rev. Jeffrey Windy officiating. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm Friday, January 12, 2018 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Donald was born February 19, 1938 in Ottawa to Carl and Elaine (Midnight) McCullough. He married Mary L. Bird on April 23, 1960 at Holy Cross Church in Mendota. He served in the United States Army in the 62nd Engineer Battalion Unit. Donald retired from Local 386 and Local 444 as a Union Iron Worker. He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Francis of Assisi Men's Club, and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, David (Helen) McCullough of Pensacola, FL; three daughters, Debbie (Bill) Walters of Clitherall, Minnesota; Donna Pearson of Ottawa, and Diane (Mike Pelszynski) deJong of Spring Valley; 12 grandchildren, Ashleigh, Dana Shae, McKenzie, Zander, Monica (Adam), Sarah (Drew), Jacob (Ashley), Rebekah, Maxwell, Brandon, Dillion, and Faith; and six great-grandchildren, Blake, Delia, Patrick, Mara, Luke, and Mia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and his nephews. Memorials may be directed to The Alzheimer's Association, St. Francis of Assisi Church, Pleasant View Luther Home, or Marquette Academy.
