Donald Jason Hougas, 96, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Pleasant View, in Ottawa. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday August 22, 2015 at Pleasant View Chapel with Rev. Richard Ewing officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 pm at the Pleasant View Chapel. Burial will be in Section Cemetery in Danway, IL. Services are entrusted to The Ottawa Funeral Home. Donald was born March 29, 1919 in Miller Twp., to Jess and Vida (Nelson) Hougas. He married Mary Mecagni Capsel on June 5, 1971 in Marseilles, she died February 8, 2010. He Farmed in Danway area for Many years. He was a member of Community Church of Christ in Marseilles, The Masonic Lodge #417 and a volunteer at Pleasant View Luther Home for many years He is survived by two Grandchildren, Jason (Brandy) Capsel, of Normal, Il and Aaron (Jessica) Capsel of Gilbert, AZ. a daughter-in-law Nancy Capsel of Ottawa, three great-grandchildren Camry, Carson and Francesca Capsel, several cousins, nieces, nephews and a special family friend Barbara Lindquist. He is preceded in death by his Parents his wife Mary, a brother at birth, and a son, Michael Capsel, Pallbearers will be David Meyer, David Arntzen, Donald Jackson, Jason Capsel, Jack Wise and David Young Memorials may be directed to Pleasant View Resident Assistance Fund.
