Donald A. Glebke

Donald "Don" A. Glebke, 98, of Ottawa, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Ottawa Pavilion.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 20 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor David Daniel officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am, two hours prior to the services, at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery, with full military rites.

Don was born January 12, 1918 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to August and Emma (Krumrei) Glebke. He married Doloris Johnson on June 30, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Don absolutely adored his wife of 75 years of marriage, they were inseparable.

Don was a foreman for the Consolidated Paper Mill in Wisconsin Rapids, where he retired in 1978. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany from 1942-1946. Don was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, and he loved golfing, puzzles, solitaire, and he could solve a Rubix Cube in no time. He took very meticulous care of his lawn and gardens, and could repair anything.

He is survived by his wife, Doloris Glebke; one daughter, Carol (Gary) Graffis; two sons, Ron (Marge) Glebke and Jim (Anne) Glebke; four grandchildren, Craig, Mike, and Kevin Shymanski, and Tami Rowe; eight great-grandchildren, Tessa, Garrett, Tristan, Wrigley, and Addison Shymanski, Beth and Alex Rowe, and Rhonda Norship; and one great-great-grandchild, Jaylon Norship.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Todd Glebke; one sister, Marian Klingforth; and one brother, Bob Glebke.
