Donald Fox

Donald Samuel Fox, 76, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery at a later date.

Donald was born September 15, 1949 in Ottawa, IL to Matthew and Patricia (Revell) Fox. He married Kathryn Powers on April 11, 1980 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Naplate. He attended Marquette and later went to Western Illinois University. He owned and operated Captain's Cove for nearly 10 years and worked as a realtor for many years. Outside of work, his passion was his family. He attended every sporting event for his children and later his grandchildren. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees Fan. He enjoyed taking fishing trips up north and taking family vacations to Hawaii and Marco Island, FL. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing softball in the Ottawa Men's league. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed spending time there with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathryn Fox; his children, Patrick Fox, Jonathan (Wendy) Fox, Nick (Sarah) Fox, and Kristen (Leslie) Fox; his grandchildren, Knox, Beau, Donnie, Ellie, and Fitz; his sisters, Vivian (Larry) Carstens and Liz (Ken Mattes) Fox; and his sister in law, Laurie Fox.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Patricia; and his brother, Michael Fox.
